How to work through the cases
The clinical cases are briefly described, including a brief patient history and the most apparent symptoms during the physical exam. ( top of screen, on blue backround ). The analysis of the cases is done in two parts. The first part consists of listing the laboratory changes observed by selecting among the choices provided ( to consult laboratory results for different tests, use the selections on the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen ). |

The second part consists of determining the list of possible diagnoses (to do so, select "Diagnosis" on the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen ). If applicable, provide a definitive diagnosis. In order to do that, you need to think of how the laboratory changes noted may be explained in physiopathological terms, while considering changes that can happen in vitro due to sample collection (artefacts), possibly associated with substance interference, serum handling or laboratory techniques. Try to make a decision on what the most probable diagnosis or diagnoses may be based on your understanding of the problem. You can also download and print a summary of the case and laboratory changes in Adobe Acrobat 3.0 format. |
