Squamous Cells in the Urinary Sediment

Squamous cells are large, angular cells, which can be found normally in urine sediment. These cells have often lost their nucleus and may be found in varying quantities in the urine sediment under normal conditions. However, any condition causing irritation, such as inflammation, can increase the number of cells that exfoliate.
