The Animal World

As in many developing countries, there are animals just about wherever you go in the Philippines.  Stray dogs run between cars and laze along the side of the road (or sometimes right on it!)  We awoke every morning to the crow of the rooster, be it in the countryside or in downtown Manila!   The farmer’s mechanical power comes most often from the carabao, the native water buffalo.  In short, animals are part of daily life in the Philippines.  Through our various internships and placements around the country, we had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of domestic and wildlife species that are an integral part of the Filipino culture.   |
